Whether you’re supporting someone you love, exploring end-of-life doula work,
building a professional service, or ready for certification, there is a training pathway
designed for where you are today.

…because there isn’t just one path into supporting families well.

People arrive here from very different places. Some are caring for someone they love and
others are already serving families professionally. What we have in common is a desire
to support people well during one of life’s most important times. We want to
understand this journey more deeply.

Mentorship has always been my preferred style of teaching this beautiful practice.

And I have worked with people who have never experienced the dying of a person
to post doctorate professors with decades of hospice experience. I’ve worked with
dump truck drivers, retired sales people, felons, philanthropists, hair dressers,
hospice nurses, administrators, sex workers, religious leaders and physicians
and every other background you can imagine.

No matter where we begin, we all share the same desire: to help people
suffer less during serious illness, dying, and death.

Every one of us has a circle of influence, for some it’s one person
and others it’s one family…sometimes it’s an entire community.
Whatever your circle, you can learn to support people with greater
confidence, steadiness, and skill.

Whether you’re learning for your own family or preparing
to help many others, I’m here to guide you.

I will help you understand everything from before hospice is even a thought
through advanced illness, the pre-hospice time, the hospice and dying time
and through early bereavement. I’ll give you best practices, rationale and teach you
how to build your connections and influence. I’ll show you how to position
yourself and how to speak about what you are doing.
And there is so much to learn Before and Beyond Hospice.
