A place to stay in the work.

The End-of-Life Practitioners Collective is a year-round professional home for people who want to stay thoughtful, current, and connected to the work before and beyond hospice.

This is not a program you complete,

It is a place you return to.

The field continues to evolve. Families change. Healthcare changes.
Our role changes.

The Collective exists so you don’t have to navigate those changes alone.

Think of it as a professional think tank, where we work through
real situations, sharpen our thinking, and continue growing
as end-of-life work becomes part of our lives.

As your work evolves, you need a trusted place to return. There are very
few professional spaces devoted to thoughtful conversations about the work
before and beyond hospice.

We are partners with families AND healthcare, not in place of either.

As advocates, we move in between current systems like water, and we are
bringing innovative solutions to current healthcare issues as our role
continues to evolve.

The Collective is where we stay current, think together, and develop the work
before and beyond hospice.

What This Is

The End-of-Life Practitioners Collective is an ongoing professional home for people who are already serving, or preparing to serve, others through serious illness and the end of life.

It isn’t another certification or a course to complete. Whether you’re serving as a volunteer, building a practice, or refining years of experience, this is a place where your work continues to evolve.

Here we think through real situations, stay current with what’s changing in the field, and continue learning together through thoughtful discussion, practical guidance, and shared experience.

Some members come every month. Others simply appreciate knowing there’s a trusted place to return when they need it. Both are welcome.

What You’ll Find Inside

1. Monthly Think Tank

Each month we gather to work through real situations, explore current questions, and think together about the realities of end-of-life practice and innovative ways to solve them.

2. Weekly Field Notes

Short observations from the field including patterns I’m noticing, ideas worth considering, and practical insights that help you stay oriented as the work continues to evolve.

3. Ask Deanna

Questions don’t wait for monthly meetings. Submit your questions anytime. Each month I address selected questions during our Think Tank or in a recorded discussion so everyone benefits from the conversation.

4. Practical Resources

Return anytime to professional tools, selected workshops, frameworks, audio teachings, and resources that support your work without overwhelming you.

5. Occasional Special Gatherings

Throughout the year we’ll occasionally gather for collaborative workshops, guest conversations, project discussions, or meet-and-greets whenever there’s something meaningful to explore together.

What Changes Over Time

Over time, something shifts inside. You stop asking, “can I do this?” so much and begin to recognize:

  • You trust your own judgment more.
  • You begin thinking like a practitioner instead of a student.
  • You stop waiting until you feel completely ready.
  • You develop your own way of serving.
  • You always have a professional place to return.

This Collective Is Built For People Who…

  • are already supporting people through serious illness or end of life
  • are creating or refining their own way of serving
  • value thoughtful discussion more than constant activity
  • want to continue learning without another structured program
  • appreciate having experienced guidance available when they need it
  • you’ve been in real end-of-life situations and want to do something for your community
  • you feel you want to get it right once and for all
  • you want to be more grounded in how you show up
  • you don’t want to figure this out alone

This Is Not

  • certification
  • another course to complete
  • daily accountability
  • a busy online community
  • a step-by-step training program
  • something you finish
  • constant notifications

It is a professional home you return to throughout the year.

Participate as much or as little as fits your life.

Words From A Member:

“…Today gave me so much to think about. Especially the perfectionism and waiting until everything is just so. One of my biggest obstacles! I am by nature a lone person, and have never been part of a community no matter how much I’ve wanted that.

I don’t have any family, and only a few friends. Though I’m told I’m warm and have great energy, I’ve always been on the outside looking in.

Through the spiritual work I’ve been doing, I know my soul purpose is to hold space for people at life’s final threshold… but turning that into a business is almost paralyzing. For now I will keep putting one foot in front of the other and showing up…”
